A trilateral program by Ayb School, Ayb Educational Foundation and Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) that provided 30 students from the rural communities with an opportunity to receive the best of education has been accomplished.
In 2017, the Ayb School Board of Trustees’ decision allowed for a special admission of the 10th grade students from rural communities. All rural students who passed the entrance exams successfully were granted scholarship for the three high school years in case of >80 cumulative GPA (grade point average). They were also provided with accommodation in AGBU’s Vahe Karapetian center.
In addition, every year up to five high school students from Artsakh and the rural communities of Armenia, who are admitted with high grades, are provided with accommodation in Yerevan and full scholarship irrespective of the family financial status.
Over the 2019/2020 academic year, 30 students from Armenian provinces and Artsakh became the beneficiaries of the special program that was recently presented during Armenia TV morning show by Ayb School Head of Community Anna Akopyan and AGBU Armenia Special Projects Coordinator Inessa Margaryan, as well as student community senior coordinator Armine Babayan and three beneficiary students, who joined the discussion online.
