MIT Students at Ayb School

When education knows no boundaries, learning becomes more exciting, filled with adventures and discoveries.

As per tradition, Ayb School once again opened its doors this year to students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to apply innovative methods together and explore advanced perspectives.

As part of the MIT Global Teaching Labs program, which aims to facilitate the exchange of experiences in both educational and cultural fields, four MIT students visited Ayb School this year as well, turning one month of the academic year into an unforgettable journey for both themselves and Ayb School. The MIT Global Teaching Labs program is an excellent opportunity to come together and share national cultural traditions with one another.

The students who visited us for a month participated in our classes, collaborated with teachers, and shared their expertise in STEM subjects, particularly in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, and computer science. They engaged in both classroom-based theoretical lessons and laboratory-based practical sessions. The lessons they conducted sparked unique interest among students, as the latter were introduced to different teaching methods. Notably, the students conducting the lessons were almost the same age as the Ayb students, creating a more friendly and informal atmosphere.

Beyond the classroom activities, the MIT and Ayb students spent free time together, during which they became friends and shared insights into their respective national cultural traditions and customs.

The visiting students were hosted by the families of Ayb students, which provided a unique opportunity for them to closely interact with Armenian families, experience their traditions, and enjoy their hospitality. This helped build strong bonds between the students and their host families, leaving each visitor with a desire to return.

The students’ visit strengthens the long-standing collaboration between MIT and Ayb School. This experience allows Ayb students to make new friends, while teachers establish collaborative connections. It fosters a greater appreciation for education and highlights the importance of international cooperation in the education sector.
